On Monday, Hendrick Motorsports announced that Kevin Meendering will serve as the interim crew chief for Kyle Larson’s No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro over the next four NASCAR Cup Series events, in place of Cliff Daniels, following a penalty at Sonoma.

Meendering, who has recorded 21 starts as a crew chief at NASCAR’s top level, replaces the team’s usual crew chief, Cliff Daniels, after the team was penalized for an improperly secured wheel at Sonoma, resulting in a four-race suspension for crew chief and two pit crew members.

As a crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series, Meendering has a best finish of third, with his resume including three top-five and eight top-10 results. In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Meendering has recorded three wins, 39 top-five, and 77 top-10 finishes in 98 starts.

Currently, Kevin Meendering is in charge of overseeing Hendrick Motorsports’ three-race NASCAR Xfinity Series effort, which will launch at Road America with Kyle Larson behind the wheel of the No. 17.

Brandon Johnson (jackman) and Donnie Tasser (front-tire changer) will join Daniels on the sidelines for the next four events. Allen Holman will replace Johnson as jackman, while Austin Dickey will replace Tasser as a front-tire changer.
