Denny Hamlin charged to his third NASCAR Cup Series win of the 2024 season after holding off a hard-charging Kyle Larson in the closing laps of Sunday’s Wurth 400 at Dover Motor Speedway. Hamlin crossed the finish line ahead of Larson by a victory margin of 0.256 sec.

Following the race, Hamlin’s race-winning No. 11 Mavis Tires & Brakes Toyota Camry XSE had to endure post-race inspection, where the car was given a passing grade. As a result, NASCAR has declared Hamlin and his team the official winners of Sunday’s race.

This is the 54th victory of Hamlin’s NASCAR Cup Series career, which ties him with NASCAR Hall of Famer Lee Petty for the 12th-most wins in NASCAR Cup Series history.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Sunday’s race are now considered official.

The No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, driven by Chase Elliott, and the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry XSE, driven by Martin Truex Jr., will be taken back to the NASCAR R&D Center for full post-race teardown.

Kyle Larson was the official runner-up finisher in the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet. Martin Truex Jr., the defending winner of this race, finished third, and pole sitter Kyle Busch came home in fourth.

Chase Elliott scored his fourth top-five finish in his last five starts with a fifth-place effort.

Noah Gragson, Ryan Blaney, Alex Bowman, Daniel Hemric, and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top-10 finishers on the day.
