On Wednesday, Joe Gibbs Racing announced that NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year contender Ty Gibbs will sport a He Gets Us primary sponsorship in six races during the 2023 season.

The 2023 partnership, which is the extension of an existing partnership from a season ago, will begin this weekend in the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The 20-year-old racer says the sponsorship is a unique one in the world of Motorsports and feels that the overall message of the partnership is a positive one.

“I think He Gets Us is a creative way to reach people in today’s world to speak about Jesus,” said Gibbs in a team release. “I think we all face struggles every day and this campaign shares an important message: no matter what we might be going through, we are not alone.”

  • Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 5th)
  • Circuit of the Americas (March 26th)
  • Dover International Speedway (April 30th)
  • Atlanta Motor Speedway (July 9th)
  • New Hampshire Motor Speedway (July 16th)
  • Pocono Raceway (July 23rd)

Joe Gibbs Racing team owner Joe Gibbs shares the sentiments of his driver and grandson.

“He Gets Us has an innovative way of reaching different audiences with what I’ve always believed to be the most important message we can share with others,” said Joe Gibbs. “It’s important to me to help others understand who Jesus is and his love for all of us.”

The He Gets Us campaign served as the primary sponsor for Gibbs in two races during his 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship season.

The campaign, which is governed by Servant Foundation, a 501(c)(3) with a 100/100 Charity Navigator rating, says the success from its partnership with Gibbs last season led the organization to expand its involvement with the young racer in 2023.

“We look forward to continuing our partnership with Joe Gibbs Racing,” said Jason Vanderground, president of HAVEN | a creative hub, headquartered in Grand Haven, Michigan, and the lead agency for the He Gets Us campaign. “After the success of our previous collaboration, we are honored to expand upon our primary sponsorship from two Xfinity Series races last year to six Cup Series events this year, and we look forward to growing our reach and impact as a result.”
