Unadilla, Georgia’s David Ragan will return to his home track, Atlanta Motor Speedway, in the No. 15 entry for Rick Ware Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Ragan, who finished eighth in the season-opening Daytona 500 for the team, will be making his second start of the 2022 season.
Select Blinds will once again be on the car, as the longtime partner of the 36-year old driver returned to sponsor him in Daytona.
The Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 on March 20th will be unique because it will be the first race on the new track configuration. The 1.54-mile speedway has been turned into a high banked, wide track that will potentially put on the same style of racing we’ve become accustomed to at Daytona and Talladega — tracks where Ragan succeeds.
Ragan is excited to tackle the new AMS.
“Atlanta Motor Speedway is a special track to me and my family,” Ragan said in a team release. “I wanted to come back and see a lot of my fans and friends, and also be a part of the inaugural race on the 28 degree banking. The track looks great and I can’t want to hit the track with our Select Blinds Ford Mustang.”
The No. 15 Rick Ware Racing team sits 27th in the NASCAR Cup Series Owner Standings after Ragan’s effort at Daytona and Garrett Smithley’s finishes the last couple of weeks at Auto Club and Las Vegas.
For those fans of Ragan that would like to see their hometown hero attack the track at Atlanta, the Speedway Motorsports facility is offering discounted tickets for Ragan’s return.
