Carson Hocevar is on quite a stretch, huh? After collecting his first career NASCAR Cup Series win at Talladega Superspeedway last weekend, the Spire Motorsports driver took the win in Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Texas Motor Speedway. On Saturday, Hocevar kept the momentum rolling, as he took his second career NASCAR Cup Series pole position.
Starting Lineup: NASCAR Cup Series Wurth 400 at Texas
Hocevar will lead the field to green in Sunday’s Wurth 400 after he turned a 28.222-second lap time (191.340 mph) during his qualifying run. Hocevar, the final car on track, would surpass Daniel Suarez, his Spire Motorsports teammate, for the pole position by a razor-thin margin of 0.003 seconds.
This pole marks the second of Hocevar’s NASCAR Cup Series career, and it comes in the driver’s 92nd career start. Ironically, Hocevar’s first career pole also came at Texas Motor Speedway in this race a season ago.
Chris Buescher secured the third starting spot for his No. 17 RFK Racing team, and he was followed on the scoring sheet by Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe.
Kyle Busch, who has had a very difficult start to the 2026 season, secured a solid sixth-place starting spot in an eye-opening run for the Richard Childress Racing driver. Busch has a new crew chief this weekend, Andy Street, who previously worked with Busch in the final five races of last season.
Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, Alex Bowman, and Ty Gibbs rounded out the top-10 qualifiers for Sunday’s Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.
