Layne Riggs will forever be mentioned along with some of the most dominant performances in NASCAR National Series history after a thumping he put on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series field in Friday night’s TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

Riggs, who started the race from the pole position, led all but two of the 200 laps in the event, and he easily cruised to his fifth victory of the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign. Riggs would cross the finish line ahead of Connor Mosack, who scored a career-best second-place finish, by a margin of 1.148 seconds, but the margin of victory wasn’t indicative of how one-sided the race was for Riggs.
“I think they’re just statement wins,” Riggs said of the dominant performances he’s turned in this season. “I mean, man, what a truck. I mean, was just on cruise control for so much of the race.”
With the win, Riggs now holds a comfortable 99-point lead over Kaden Honeycutt for the regular-season point lead with just two races remaining until the Chase for the Championship begins. Riggs is now up to 10 career wins in 70 starts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Riggs did credit Mosack for making him earn it on the final run of the race.
“[Mosack], he kept me honest there at the end. I was honestly, those last 15-ish laps in traffic, I was running as hard as I could, and I couldn’t get away from him,” Riggs said.
Ty Majeski finally snapped his good race, bad race trend on Friday night, as he scored his second consecutive good finish with a third-place result. Prior to Friday night’s race at IRP, Majeski had yet to have back-to-back finishes inside the top-10.
Chandler Smith, Riggs’ teammate who was the only other driver to lead laps in the race, came home with a solid fourth-place finish a week removed from a win at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Smith secured his berth into the Chase with another great evening on Friday.
Nick Sanchez, making a start behind the wheel of the No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, came home an impressive fifth in his first Truck Series start since a 13th-place run a season ago at Texas Motor Speedway.
Stewart Friesen holds a slim eight-point advantage over Tyler Ankrum for the final Chase position following a sixth-place finish on Friday night.
Kaden Honeycutt, Gavan Boschele, Tyler Ankrum, and Michael Christopher, Jr. rounded out the top-10 finishers in the TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
Christian Eckes (finished 33rd) and Gio Ruggiero (finished 13th) joined Smith in locking in their spot in the Chase for the championship on Friday night. Five drivers are now locked into the 10-driver Chase with two races remaining until the Chase begins: Layne Riggs, Kaden Honeycutt, Chandler Smith, Christian Eckes, and Gio Ruggiero.
Next up for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a 250-lap contest at Richmond Raceway on Friday, August 14. That race will be televised on FS1 with coverage set to kick off at 7:30 PM ET.
