Biohaven, who will be sponsoring Rick Ware Racing’s No. 51 entry during the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, has made a driver selection for this season. Cody Ware, son of Rick Ware Racing’s team owner Rick Ware, will pilot the No. 51 Nurtec OTC Chevrolet Camaro for the full 2021 season beginning with the season-opening Daytona 500.

Rick Ware Racing made the announcement via press release on Monday.

For Cody Ware, the partnership with Nurtec OTC is special as he suffers from migraines.

“I am pumped to head to Daytona International Speedway with Biohaven as our primary sponsor,” Ware said in a team release. “As a person with migraine, it’s even more meaningful for me to drive the Nurtec ODT #51 car to raise awareness of this debilitating disease, especially at the biggest race of the year. We have a lot of exciting things planned for 2021, and I look forward to competing in the NASCAR Cup Series again.”

Biohaven is ready to get the partnership going, as well.

“We are very excited that Cody will be driving the Nurtec ODT car at the NASCAR races and to be working with him to raise awareness about migraine and Nurtec ODT,” said Vlad Coric, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Biohaven. “As a person with migraine and someone who has to deal with so many migraine triggers on the racetrack, Cody will help elevate the conversation about the importance of an effective acute treatment for migraine.”

Ware has 51 total starts between the three NASCAR National Series through his career, and last year while only running one single race in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, Ware scored his career-best finish in both series.

Last fall, Ware scored a 19th-place finish in the Cup Series event at Talladega Superspeedway and he scored a seventh-place finish in the Xfinity Series race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.

Ware will look to improve on his career-best finish of 19th, and he’ll look to help his family-owned team take the next step in their progression in 2021.
