It’s been a whirl-wind off season for Ross Chastain. It seemed as if he had finally achieved his dream of landing a big-time NASCAR ride with Chip Ganassi Racing. Then as the clock struck midnight the glass slipper fell off on the dream scenario and he was left ride-less.

He has been scrambling to fill his schedule ever since.

Thursday, the puzzle pieces of the 2019 NASCAR puzzle finished coming together for Ross Chastain as Kaulig Racing announced that the Florida-native will be behind the wheel of their No. 10 Camaro for three NASCAR Xfinity Series races, including the season-opening NASCAR Experience 300 at Daytona.

The other two events that Chastain will be in the No. 10 include the June 29th race at Chicago and the November 2nd race at Texas.

In a tweet released by Kaulig Racing, it was revealed that Chastain’s Daytona car will feature a beautiful black and green paint scheme with sponsorship from NutrientAg Solutions.

JD Motorsports also announced that Chastain will return to the No. 4 car for the remainder of the NXS slate of races.

The JD Motorsports move means that Blake Koch, who had announced his return to the series earlier this off season is now out of a ride.

However, Koch took to Twitter to explain that exciting news about his personal company FilterTime is what has caused him to step away from the No. 4 team opportunity.

“We here at JD Motorsports are looking forward to having Ross back in the No. 4 in 2019. He has shown his ability to wheel a racecar time and time again while competing against some of the top teams in the sport. I am excited to see how far the improvements made in the off season will take the No. 4 car this year.” said team owner, Johnny Davis.

Chastain’s tenure behind the wheel of the No. 4 car will begin at Atlanta.

Chastain has already announced a part-time driving schedule with Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series for this season. He will also be back full-time in Premium Motorsports’ No. 15 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series ride.

Can he claw his way back into a position to land a big-time ride? Only time will tell. But at least the young driver is finding opportunities after a nightmare off season.
