The No. 26 SnapMobile / Kyle Petty Throwback For Darlington (PC : Tanner Whitt)

One of the most highly-requested throwback schemes from fans is coming to fruition, thanks to Sam Hunt Racing.

Brandon Gdovic has been confirmed as the driver for Darlington, and he will pilot a special SnapMobile.shop Supra that harkens back to 1997 and Kyle Petty’s iconic Hot Wheels Pontiac.

The design makes clever use of the Hot Wheels logo, thanks to SnapMobile being open to changing its brand guidelines. The design even goes as far as to change the number font, and skew for maximum accuracy.

Kyle Williams, a graphic designer at The Decal Source, has been the designer responsible for a number of designs in the Toyota camp in 2021, including Sam Hunt Racing. He’s expected to bring yet another amazing palette of schemes into the Camping World Truck Series, and the Xfinity Series.

“This throwback was special because of the artistic challenge, as well as the nostalgia that hit close to home,” Williams told TobyChristie.com. ” I’m going to Darlington this year almost primarily to see this car hit the track. Sam Hunt, SnapMobile.Shop and The Decal Source were gracious enough to give me the reigns on this design, and do the throwback right. “

Sam Hunt Racing has seen a solid start to the 2021 season. Gdovic has two starts this season with SHR, with both finishes coming in the top-20 and a season-best of eighth at Daytona. In seven starts for SHR as a whole in 2021, the team has only recorded one finish outside the top-20 at Homestead with Santino Ferrucci.

Fans can see the No. 26 SnapMobile.shop Supra hit the track for the Steakhouse Elite 200 at Darlington on Saturday, May 8th at 1:00 PM EST on FOX Sports 1 and the FOX Sports app.
