Anthony Alfredo will move to a part-time schedule with DGR-Crosley Racing in the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series in 2019, according to a press release from the team.

“Going to DGR-Crosley next season is a huge opportunity for me,” said Alfredo in the release. “To be able to work with David [Gilliland], who’s not only the owner but also someone who has a lot of racing experience, is going to be very beneficial. They have a great group of hardworking
knowledgeable people in their shop which is going to make the transition to Trucks a lot
smoother for me.”

In the release Alfredo also stated that his end goal is to make it to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series ranks.

Alfredo worked his way up the ladder through Late Models on the CARS Tour. In that series, Alfredo drove for Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s team in 2017 and won two races in 13 starts and finished second in the point standings to teammate Josh Berry.

For the 2018 season, the NASCAR Next program tabbed Alfredo as one of the brightest young talents to keep an eye on.

The Connecticut native drove in the K&N Pro East series this past season and won a race and collected nine top-10 finishes in 14 starts. He finished fifth in the overall championship standings.

Alfredo also started two events in the ARCA Racing Series in 2018, with his best finish being a seventh place effort at Gateway.

DGR-Crosley Racing’s co-owner, David Gilliland is chomping at the bit to see what his new driver can do behind the wheel of his machines.

“I’m excited to have Anthony on board next season,” said Gilliland. “I watched him all year in the K&N [Pro East] Series and he did a great job. He’s a talented racer and has shown that he has the drive to keep getting better. He’s a great fit for our program at DGR-Crosley and going to do a very good job for us next season in the Truck Series.”

A team representative confirmed that the plan is for Alfredo to make his Truck Series debut in the second race of the season at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and the ultimate goal is for Alfredo’s schedule to include 13 races.

Alfredo’s official schedule, truck number and sponsor package will be announced at a later date.
