Video: 12-Truck Melee Breaks Out on Lap 6 of Truck Race at Daytona

Welp, that didn’t take long. The action in the pack was furious in the opening laps of Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Fresh from Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway. It felt like from the drop of the green flag that the big one was on its way, and on Lap 6, we may have seen it.

As the pack reached the backstretch, Matt Crafton received a hard shove from behind courtesy of Christian Eckes. The contact sent Crafton sideways, and he collided with Layne Riggs. Crafton then skidded back into Tanner Gray, who spun down into Stewart Friesen, and the carnage was on.

Here is the video, which swept up a total of 12 trucks on Lap 6:

The drivers involved in the lap six chaos included No. 2 Nick Sanchez, No. 9 Grant Enfinger, No. 13 Jake Garcia, No. 15 Tanner Gray, No. 25 Ty Dillon, No. 27 Keith McGee, No. 33 Lawless Alan, No. 38 Layne Riggs, No. 46 Thad Moffitt, No. 52 Stewart Friesen, No. 71 Rajah Caruth, and No. 88 Matt Crafton.

Of the 12 drivers involved, three of them (Jake Garcia, Ty Dillon, and Thad Moffitt) were knocked out of the race altogether.
