Coming off a season’s best on Memorial Day Weekend, US Air Force Pilot Ryan Roulette and his team are set to take their car back to the heartland of America as the ARCA Menards Series heads to the 7/8th mile Iowa Speedway for the Atlas 150.

For the Minot ND, native this season has been all about learning as he’s traveled to several new tracks for him. Kansas, Charlotte, and now Iowa all mark milestones for his career. Coming to the Newtown, IA race track is a little more special though.

“I spent my later years of high school in the great state of Iowa in the where I graduated in Carlisle, Iowa. We are looking forward to this opportunity and being back in the state of Iowa to race again,” he said.

“It all started in Iowa for me, and this is a race we have been looking forward to all season. Coming off of a good run at Charlotte we are looking to continue to move up the field. Charlotte was a very challenging track and our team fought through a lot of adversity to bring home a solid 16th that evening,” he added.

The 38-year-old is setting a good tone for he and his Fast Track Racing, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) No. 12. Through five starts he’s averaging a 21.4 for finishing, which says a lot for coming to new tracks. He also sits currently 15th in driver’s points.

As always with Roulette and his partnership with the VFW, they are set to bring a number of members to the track.

“I’m very excited to say that we will have seven Iowa VFW members at the track with us this weekend.in particular, my old high school friend, Dustin Hamell who is VFW lifetime member. Hamell enlisted in the Air force in 2005 as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and served in Iraq and Afghanistan and was awarded an Army Commendation Medal with Valor as well as a Purple Heart while serving in Afghanistan.”

Ryan is also excited for Dustin’s family. “Dustin has one son, Maxton, who is 9 years old, and I am personally excited to bring him on board as our honorary pit crew member for the race.”

You can catch Roulette’s rocket ship of the No. 12 Fast Track machine live on FS1 on Friday at 8PM ET.
