Championship leader Will Power went quickest in a straightforward second practice for the NTT IndyCar Series at Portland International Raceway.

The 41-year-old Aussie managed 27 laps in total, with his No. 12 Team Penske Chevrolet hitting a session best of 58.3946s (121.080 mph) around the 12-turn, 1.964-mile road course.

Power was narrowly ahead of his Team Penske teammates, with Josef Newgarden just 0.0137s behind in second, followed by Scott McLaughlin at just 0.0964s off the top spot in third. McLaughlin logged a session-most 30 laps.

Colton Herta ended up putting his No. 26 Andretti Autosport Honda in fourth, with rookie Christian Lundgaard elevating his No. 30 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda in fifth.

Graham Rahal followed his rookie teammate to end up sixth. Six-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon managed to put the No. 9 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda up to seventh.

The No. 27 Andretti Autosport Honda of Alexander Rossi was eighth, while rookie Callum Ilott put in a respectable effort with his No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet in ninth.

Pato O’Ward, who ended up spinning in opening practice on Friday afternoon, recovered in second practice and had his No. 5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet in 10th.

There were no incidents during the second practice session.
