Former Marine Josh White Readying For Return to NASCAR, ARCA

Josh White was an interesting story when he came into the sport a few years ago. He’s a former Marine that had vivid dreams of being a race car driver since the age of four. After starting his racing career at the age of 16 and making it up the ladder to ARCA and the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (in underfunded equipment), it appeared that White’s dream had slowed to a halt.

But White, who graduated from boot camp at Parris Island in 2010, doesn’t quit. It’s a long-standing trait of Marines.

After being away from the sport for nearly three years, the planets are now aligning for a big return for the West Virginia-native.

White, 28, has partnered with Mission 22, which is a non-profit committed to lowering the ever-rising veteran suicide rate. Being a veteran, it was a natural fit for White.

“I am very excited to be a part of this organization, I want to help other Veterans, so this is an honor to be a part of an organization this influential,” said White in a press release. “I think with my fanbase and my racing career, we have the potential to be very powerful with reducing the Veteran suicide rate. To save a Veterans life, is a success, a battle won. I would hope someone would do the same for me.”

According to White, he has a team lined up to drive for, which would allow him the opportunity to drive the NASCAR K&N, ARCA and Gander Outdoors Truck Series.

“I have a team,” White said in an exclusive interview with TobyChristie.com. “And we have been working together, been working very hard for some time now.”

White says the biggest thing at the moment is trying to find more sponsors to secure his ride for the final handful of races for 2019. When pressed on what team he may be working with, White wasn’t ready to name them on the record.

“I can’t divulge who I’m with yet,” White Said, “I don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. But as soon as I can, announcements will be made.”

Regardless who the team is, it is looking more and more like White’s return to the sport is happening and it should happen by the end of this season if everything goes well.
