Codie Rohrbaugh to Run Daytona and Talladega in Second CR7 Motorsports Entry

CR7 Motorsports will field a second entry, No. 97, for team owner Codie Rohrbaugh in a pair of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events for the upcoming season, including the February season-opener at Daytona International Speedway.

Michael Shelton, who was recently appointed General Manager of CR7 Motorsports, confirmed the team’s intentions to field a second truck in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Friday.

“For sure Codie [Rohrbaugh] is going to run Daytona and Talladega,” Sheldon said Friday. “He might run a short rack in there, but there is no real effort – our plate is full with getting the No. 9 Truck to where it needs to be, so we don’t want to add to that at this point any more than we have to.”

During his limited schedule, Rohrbaugh will serve as a teammate to Grant Enfinger, who returns to CR7 Motorsports for the upcoming season to make a full-season run in the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado.

The Petersburg, West Virginia native served as the primary driver for CR7 Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series from 2018 to 2021, recording two top-five and five top-10 results, including a career-best third-place result at Daytona in 2020.

After taking a season to focus on the ownership side of things in 2022, Rohrbaugh returned to competition for the NASCAR Truck Series season-opener in 2023, piloting a second entry for CR7 Motorsports, and finishing 33rd after getting involved in a mid-race accident.

In 93 NASCAR Truck Series starts CR7 Motorsports has accumulated four finishes inside the top five from drivers Codie Rohrbaugh, Grant Enfinger, and most recently Colby Howard, who finished fourth in last year’s season-opener at Daytona.
