LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Names Ben Beshore as 2024 Crew Chief for John Hunter Nemechek

As John Hunter Nemechek returns to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2024, he’ll have a familiar face atop the No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB pit box as Ben Beshore has been named the crew chief for Nemechek and the No. 42 team.

The LEGACY MOTOR CLUB team made the announcement on Monday morning.

For Beshore, who has been fully ingrained in the Joe Gibbs Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series program, most recently with Nemechek in 2023, he finds the challenge of building LMC into a contender as an exciting move.

“I’m excited to join LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and continue working with John Hunter in the Cup Series – we had so much success last season,” Beshore said in a team release. “I’m looking forward to helping build this program into a perennial contender that can compete at the highest level possible each and every week.”

Beshore, 42, has recorded three NASCAR Cup Series wins as a crew chief, which all came with Kyle Busch at Joe Gibbs Racing, and he has recorded 15 wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series ranks.

Nemechek, who won seven races and finished fourth in the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings with Beshore as his crew chief, feels a bond with Beshore.

“The partnership between driver and crew chief requires a type of chemistry that is hard to find,” said Nemechek. “As a driver, if you’re lucky enough to find a crew chief that you mesh with as well as Ben and I do, you do everything possible to stick together. I look forward to building on our competitive partnership and fighting for more wins and championships.”

Nemechek has made a total of 41 starts in the NASCAR Cup Series in his young career, and he scored three top-10 finishes in his rookie campaign in 2020 while driving for Front Row Motorsports.

LEGACY MOTOR CLUB announced Nemechek as the driver of the team’s No. 42 car for the 2024 season back on September 6th.

The driver, who has amassed 22 victories in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series ranks, will look to snag his first career NASCAR Cup Series win in 2024.
