A number of cars have sustained damage in a logjam in the closing laps of Sunday’s Grant Park 220 at the Chicago Street Course.

On a fairly narrow 2.2-mile street course, when a driver inside the top-10 finds himself into the tire barrier, you’re going to have some innocent bystanders involved. That was exactly the case in a Lap 49 accident in Sunday’s Grant Park 220.

The accident, which started when William Byon got into the tire barriers in Turn 11, became an even bigger stack-up when Corey LaJoie got into the rear-end of Kevin Harvick, spinning both cars in front of the pack.

Aric Almirola, Kyle Larson, Bubba Wallace, Chris Buescher, Christopher Bell, and Erik Jones all got a piece of the incident, as the track become blocked, not allowing anybody to move through and clear the accident.

None of the cars involved sustained any major damage in the accident, allowing everyone to drive away from the accident without having to retire from the race, and for the most part stay on the lead lap.
