Daniel Suárez will be logging a lot of track time at the Thunder Road Speedbowl, as he prepares for the upcoming SRX Racing event at the facility on July 20th.

On Tuesday, Suárez announced that he will participate in the 44th Vermont Governor’s Cup 150 on July 13th. The Governor’s Cup is a prestigious race that will feature “the best of the best” Maplewood/Irving Late Model stars, in what is the longest points event of the season for drivers in the summer season.

“We’re very excited to welcome Daniel Suárez to Thunder Road,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “Daniel is part of a strong youth movement with Trackhouse Racing at our sport’s highest levels, so to have him come up to Thunder Road will be a big boost for the track and we know the fans will love it.”

For Suárez this will be an opportunity to gain familiarity at a race track that he has never competed at before.

“I am very excited about the Governor’s Cup. I have heard many good things about Thunder Road as well as the event,” said Suárez in a press release from the track. “This will be a new experience for me and I am looking forward to it as well as the SRX the following week. I’m going to spend a lot of time in Vermont that week.”

On the Thursday following the Governor’s Cup, Suárez will compete in the SRX Racing Series event with a star-studded lineup on ESPN’s Thursday Night Thunder.

Suárez, a native of Monterrey, Mexico, pilots the No. 99 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series. Suárez scored his first-career NASCAR Cup Series win a season ago and finished 10th in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series championship standings.

The 31-year-old racer was the 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion, and he boasts three wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series ranks as well as one win in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
