Nick Sanchez, who scored the 2022 ARCA Menards Series championship, will run the remainder of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season in the No. 48 entry for Big Machine Racing.

The organization made the announcement on Tuesday with a video that they shared on social media with their scanner audio from the end of this past weekend’s NXS Alsco Uniforms 302 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where Sanchez finished in 12th.

In the audio clip, Sanchez is told that he did a good job and that the car is his Phoenix car, implying he would be running more races in the car. Tuesday, the team made it official by announcing that Sanchez will run the last three events at Homestead, Martinsville, and Phoenix.

This will bring Sanchez’s total to six starts with Big Machine Racing this season and he will end the year with a total of eight NASCAR Xfinity Series starts after beginning the year with two starts with BJ McLeod Motorsports.

The 21-year-old driver has finishes of 29th, 11th, and 12th in his three starts with Big Machine Racing. He’ll look to close the season out by moving that career-best finish inside the top-10.
