Lundqvist Edges Brabham to Top Indy Lights Practice at Iowa Speedway

Championship leader Linus Lundvist was fastest in the lone practice session of the weekend for Indy Lights at Iowa Speedway.

The 23-year-old Swede and pilot of the No. 26 HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing entry put down a late quick lap of 158.229 mph around the 0.894-mile oval, besting the No. 83 Andretti Autosport’s machine of Matthew Brabham by 0.0322s. Brabham ran a session-best 83 laps.

Hunter McElrea, driver of the No. 27 for Andretti Autosport, ended up 0.0602s in third.

Christian Rasmussen and Jacob Abel finished the session in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Sting Ray Robb, Daniel Frost, Benjamin Pedersen, Christian Bogle cleaned up spots sixth through ninth. Kyffin Simpson, driving his first race since announcing a switch to HMD Motorsports from TJ Speed Motorsports earlier in the week, was 10th.

The 50-minute session featured one caution, which was for a track inspection.
