Post-race technical inspection following Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway has been completed.

Daniel Suárez’s race-winning No. 99 ONX Homes Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet Camaro has passed. As a result, NASCAR has declared Suárez and his team the official winners of the race.

This marks the first victory of Suárez’s NASCAR Cup Series career (195 starts) and it has likely secured his place in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. This would also mark the first NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs berth for Suárez (previous best points finish was 17th back in 2019).

Suárez, who was born in Mexico, becomes the fifth foreign-born driver to win a NASCAR Cup Series race, joining Mario Andretti (Italy), Earl Ross (Canada), Marcos Ambrose (Australia) and Juan Pablo Montoya (Colombia). Suárez has also now scored at least one win in all three of the NASCAR National Series (NASCAR Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Trucks).

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following the event are now considered official.

Chris Buescher is the official runner-up finisher of the race, one week after an absence due to contracting COVID-19. Michael McDowell, Kevin Harvick and rookie contender Austin Cindric rounded out the top-five finishers of the race.
