On Thursday, NASCAR officially released the schedule for the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s Series season, comprised of 13 events across four different provinces – Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and Saskatchewan — between May and September.

For the first time since 2010, the series will begin its schedule on an oval, with Sunset Speedway hosting the first race of 2022 on May 14. The following weekend (May 22), Canadian Tire Motorsports Park will host the first of the track’s two events on the calendar.

After a short break, drivers and teams will travel to Autodrome Chaudière for the third event of the season – and the first of three in Quebec for 2022. The facility was supposed to have a doubleheader last season, but excessive amounts of precipitation forced its cancellation.

With travel restrictions lifted, the NASCAR Pinty’s Series will return to form in sharing a weekend with the NTT IndyCar Series on the streets of Toronto, contesting the Exhibition Place street course on July 15.

The very next weekend will begin an intense mid-summer stretch that will have the series racing three times in four days, once at Edmonton International Raceway on July 23, and twice more at Wyant Group Raceway in a doubleheader on July 27.

After a stop in Quebec for the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières on August 7, the NASCAR Pinty’s Series will finally host its first event on the dirt at Ohsweken Speedway on August 16, something that has been in the works, but canceled, each of the last two seasons.

To end the season’s road course schedule, Circuit ICAR and Canadian Tire Motorsports Park each retain their late-summer dates in back-to-back road course events on August 27 and September 4, respectively, before finishing the season off at Delaware Speedway on September 25.

At the time of publishing, the fourth race of the season remains ‘TBD’ on the schedule for June 25.

All events will be broadcast on TSN / RSN in Canada, with FloRacing holding the live coverage of the series’ races in the United States.
