The first crash of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway has occurred on lap 167.

From replays on NBCSN, it looked like Ryan Newman slammed into Cole Custer while battling for position.

As Newman bounced off the wall, Bubba Wallace made big contact with the rear of Daniel Suarez’s car.

Newman’s contact with Custer and the wall appeared to break something on his car, which sent him hard into the wall.

Here is video of what ended Newman’s race:

Ryan Newman, Custer, Suarez and Wallace all suffered damage in the crash.
