2022 NASCAR Cup Series Schedule is Officially Here

2022 NASCAR Cup Schedule

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series schedule is here! While 2021 saw huge sweeping changes to the NCS schedule, 2022 also carries a few more changes as well.

What Are the Notable Changes With the 2022 NCS Schedule?

The season-opening exhibition race, the Busch Clash, officially moves away from Daytona International Speedway. Instead, the race will be contested at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as previously reported by The Athletic.

The Series will race on Easter Sunday for the first time since 1989. And the 2022 schedule will only have one off weekend, which comes between the June 12th race at Sonoma and June 26th race at Nashville.

To put it in perspective, the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series schedule had three off weekends.

World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway will get it’s first-ever NASCAR Cup Series date on June 5th.

Richmond Raceway has been bumped from the Playoffs schedule, and taking it’s place will be Homestead-Miami Speedway. Homestead, of course, served as the season-finale track in the NASCAR Cup Series from 2002 to 2019. Now, after a couple of seasons in the early portion of the schedule, Homestead returns to the Playoffs.
