Grant Enfinger has had such a great 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series season, but whether he moves on to the Championship 4 at Phoenix Raceway will depend on if he can win next weekend at Martinsville Speedway.

On lap 91 of Sunday’s SpeedyCash.com 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, the engine on Enfinger’s No. 98 truck detonated.

“Yeah, we just blew up,” Enfinger explained. “Unfortunately, it looks similar to what happened to us in Las Vegas last year, but we don’t know that for sure. It just blew up.”

This dropped Enfinger, who has three wins this season, to a 32nd-place finish.

Last season, Enfinger won the regular season championship, but in the Playoffs at Las Vegas Motor Speedway an engine failure also knocked him out of the Playoff race.

The NGROTS of course utilizes spec Ilmor Engines.
