The fourth leg of the eight-race”Harvick Cup fueled by Hunt Brothers Pizza” is set to take place on Wednesday, July 16, in the prestigious Masters of the Pros 200 at Owosso Speedway. The race, which will be streamed to subscribers of Racing America, will be the 13th edition of the event, which has been won previously by, among others, Bubba Pollard, John Hunter Nemechek, and Chase Elliott.

Needless to say, the prestige of the event as well as the $25,000 prize for the race win will be on the minds of Kevin Harvick and his 13-year-old son Keelan Harvick, who will compete in this week’s event.

A total of 29 cars are on the entry list for Wednesday night’s race on Racing America, including short track standout Stephen Nasse, defending Master of the Pros winner and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series full-time competitor Dawson Sutton, and NASCAR Canada Series champion Treyten Lapcevich.

The Harvicks will be matched up against a stout field of drivers on Wednesday evening. However, the father-son duo will have a lot more to race for.

The younger Harvick currently leads the way with a 3-0 score over his father in the “Harvick Cup”, which will serve as the race within the race on Wednesday night. The member of the Harvick family that scores more head-to-head wins over the eight races they have scheduled against each other this season will walk away with a special “Harvick Cup” trophy.

If Kevin, a future NASCAR Hall of Famer, wants to have the bragging rights of defeating his son, who is one of the top up-and-coming racers in the country, he needs to get up on the wheel Wednesday night in Michigan.

Through the opening three races of the Harvick Cup, Keelan has collected overall race wins in the CARS Tour West Pro Late Model series events at Kevin Harvick’s Kern County Speedway as well as in the zMAX CARS Tour Pro Late Model Series event at Hickory Motor Speedway.

Keelan also won the head-to-head battle over his father in the CARS Tour West Pro Late Model division with a runner-up finish in the event at Evergreen Speedway. If Keelan wins over his father again on Wednesday night, the best Kevin Harvick will be able to muster is a tie against his son.

Here is the remaining schedule for the Harvick Cup fueled by Hunt Brothers Pizza following Wednesday’s event at Owosso:

  • August 16: CARS Tour West Pro Late Models at Colorado National Speedway
  • October 10: CARS Tour West Pro Late Models at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
  • October 19: CARS Tour Pro Late Models at North Wilkesboro Speedway
  • November 16: CARS Tour West Pro Late Models at Kevin Harvick’s Kern County Raceway
