Ryan Newman, Roush Fenway Racing, Rocking Fresh HyVee Paint Scheme at Kansas

Ryan Newman and the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing team will be sporting a brand new look this weekend at Kansas Speedway in the Hollywood Casino 400. The team revealed that HyVee, an employee-owned grocery store chain, will be the primary sponsor of their Ford Mustang this weekend.

The team released the news with a video of the car being wrapped.

This will incredibly mark the 11th-different primary sponsor that Newman’s No. 6 machine has featured during the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Newman, who made the NCS Playoffs in 2019, has had a rough season, which started out in near-tragic fashion as he was involved in a freighting last-lap crash in the season-opening Daytona 500. After a stay in the hospital, followed by missing three races, Newman returned to action.

The gutsy performance has actually led to a lot of the sponsorship deals that the team has signed since the accident. However, the performance hasn’t returned to 2019 level, just yet. Newman has two top-10 finishes this season and sits 25th in the championship standings.

However, Newman did record a sixth-place finish back at Talladega and a 15th-place finish at Las Vegas the week before. So, perhaps momentum is building for the 42-year old driver.
