Video: Austin Dillon’s Good Night Goes South After Belt Knocked Off Motor

What looked to be a good race for Austin Dillon in Sunday night’s NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, soured with 54 laps left in the race.

Dillon, who had gained 10 Stage Points by finishing sixth in Stages 1 and 2, had a belt knocked off his motor, which caused him to lose power steering and caused his engine to overheat. Dillon would have to come to pit road for repairs, he would lose eight laps in the process.

Dillon who looked like a decent bet to advance into the Round of 8, now is behind the eight ball as he has dropped to 12th in the standings as they run.
