Video: Martin Truex Jr. Runs Into Gas Can Exiting Pit Road

What in the world? Martin Truex Jr. has had some rough luck on pit road.

Last November at Homestead, his team put the wrong tires on the wrong side of his No. 19 car, which cost them a chance at a championship.

Monday, in the Daytona 500 Truex was exiting pit road during a pitstop in the end of Stage 2 caution break. As he was exiting, Chase Elliott ahead of him still had the gas can stuck in the side of his car upon pit exit.

As Elliott accelerated, the gas can flew off and landed on pit road, right in front of Truex.

Truex had nowhere to go and collected the gas can.

Luckily, after checking it out the damage on Truex’s No. 19 car wasn’t severe.
