Video: Denny Hamlin Spins in Final Turn While Lapping Car, Hands Stage 1 Win to Hemric

WOW, after looking like he was marching to a certain Stage 1 win in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Darlington, Denny Hamlin went for a spin in the final turn of the final lap of the Stage, which handed Daniel Hemric the Stage win on a silver platter.

For Hamlin, he had come up on the lapped car of Carson Ware. Hamlin went low to pass Ware, and Ware did not give Hamlin much room.

This caused Hamlin to get all the way on the apron, which sent his No. 54 Toyota Camry for a spin.

Hamlin was able to keep from damaging his car.
