William Byron, who has been a tear on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit through the opening half of the 2023 season, will add the August 9th Battle at Berlin to his racing schedule.
Byron, 25, will pilot the No. 24 Chevrolet entry for Anthony Campi Racing, and the driver, who has been worth his weight in gold this season, will carry the gold colors of U.S. Radiator.
Back in November, U.S. Radiator signed a multi-year partnership with Byron, and the Alabama-based company was the primary sponsor for Byron in the 2022 Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida.
Byron made the field for the prestigious Snowball Derby and finished sixth.
Now, he’ll look to take U.S. Radiator to victory lane at Berlin Raceway, a track where Byron scored the win in the 2022 Money in the Bank 150 last June. In that 150-lap contest, Byron led 132 laps and topped Bubba Pollard and Ty Majeski to score the victory.
Byron also competed admirably in the 2022 Battle at Berlin, and after leading 30 laps, he recorded an eighth-place finish.
So far in 2023, Byron has contested five Super Late Model Events. He started 10th, led 47 laps, and won the Clyde Hart Memorial 100 at New Smyrna Speedway in February.
Byron also scored runner-up finishes at North Wilkesboro Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway in the ASA STARS National Tour. The runner-up finish at Hickory came in a controversial manner as Byron led 115 laps through the 250-lap contest, but was roughed up by Gio Ruggiero on a late-race restart for the win.
This past Tuesday, Byron finished 10th in his bid to defend his 2022 win in the Slinger Nationals.
