Josh Berry’s short track racing resumé is already star-studded, but on Sunday at Southern National Motorsports Park, it became even more impressive, capturing the victory in the 20th Annual Thanksgiving Classic.

The 31-year-old wrapped up his tenure as a full-time driver for JR Motorsports’ Late Model program with a crown jewel victory, a fitting conclusion considering the stranglehold that Berry and the organization have had on the short track scene in recent years.

In 2022, Berry will graduate to the ‘big leagues’ and run full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for JR Motorsports, after being given the opportunity to run a partial schedule in the series this past season, collecting a pair of victories at Martinsville and Las Vegas.

Carson Kvapil – son of Travis Kvapil — will get the opportunity to take over the JR Motorsports Late Model program next season, and hopes to replicate the same dominance that Berry had in the No. 8.

Brenden Queen, Doug Barnes, Connor Hall, and Deac McCaskill rounded out the top five. NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor Blaine Perkins finished 11th driving for Burton-Sellers Racing.
