Kyle Larson win Port Royal Speedway World of Outlaws 2022
Kyle Larson scored his 28th-career World of Outlaws win in a dominating performance Wednesday night at Port Royal Speedway.

Kyle Larson’s dominance in NASCAR and on dirt hasn’t been nearly as prevalent as it was a year ago, but perhaps he is building momentum once again.

On Wednesday night, Larson secured the top starting spot for the Midweek World of Outlaws Main Event at Port Royal Speedway, a half-mile clay oval in Port Royal, Pennsylvania.

What did Larson proceed to do? Well, he led all 30 laps and cruised to the victory.

Here is the end of the race from the DirtVision broadcast:

For Larson, this is his fourth World of Outlaws victory of the 2022 season and it is the 28th win of his World of Outlaws career.

While the 29-year old had little challenge for the $20,000 payday, the race for second on back was quite intense. Danny Dietrich held off Anthony Macri for the runner-up finish, while Brent Marks come home in fourth.

Sheldon Haudenschild rounded out the top-five finishers in the 26-car Main Event.

Larson has one win so far in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, perhaps Wednesday night’s win at Port Royal can serve as the catalyst for his weekend NASCAR racing for the remainder of the year.

The Elk Grove, California-native scored 10 wins in the NASCAR Cup Series last year en route to the NASCAR Cup Series championship. This weekend, the NASCAR Cup Series visits Pocono Raceway, where Larson held the lead on the last lap a season ago, before a tire blew causing him to limp home to a ninth-place finish.

Larson will look to avenge that near-win last year with a checkered flag in Sunday’s M&M’s Fan Appreciation 400 at the 2.5-mile triangular track.
