For the first time since joining the NASCAR Cup Series, Toyota has placed a vehicle on the pole for the DAYTONA 500.
Chase Briscoe, in his first points-paying event for Joe Gibbs Racing, put his No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota Camry XSE on the pole for Sunday’s DAYTONA 500 with a time of 49.249 seconds (182.745mph). Austin Cindric, 2022 winner of the Daytona 500, was second and will lock his starting spot in for Sunday’s event.
Ryan Preece, Joey Logano, Josh Berry, Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon, Christopher Bell, Ty Dillon, and Kyle Larson rounded out the 10 drivers that advanced to the second round of qualifying.
