In the final moments of Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series practice session at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Joe Gibbs Racing’s Chandler Smith went to the top of the speed charts with a lap time of 53.971 sec. (166.756 mph). Smith was 0.050 sec. quicker than Parker Kligerman, who turned the second-fastest lap of the session in the No. 48 Big Machine Racing Chevrolet Camaro.
Conor Daly, Brandon Jones, and Riley Herbst rounded out the top five fastest in the session.
