William Sawalich came to life late in Saturday’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series North Carolina Education Lottery 250 at Rockingham Speedway, and the young Joe Gibbs Racing driver was able to hold off Brandon Jones, his teammate, in the closing laps to score his first career win.
Jones would cross the finish line 0.863 seconds behind Sawalich, and Justin Allgaier, Rajah Caruth, and Carson Kvapil would follow them across the finish line for top-five finishes.
Cleetus McFarland, who had a rough series debut, would come home with a 32nd-place finish.
