Video: Josh Berry Cuts Tire, Crashes After Contact From Dale Jr. on Lap 171

Josh Berry Dale Earnhardt Jr. crash Martinsville 2022
Josh Berry went for a ride after a cut tire following contact with his boss Dale Earnhardt Jr. Friday at Martinsville.

Josh Berry was battling his bossman Dale Earnhardt Jr. inside the top-10 on lap 171 of Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Call 811 Before You Dig 250 at Richmond Raceway.

But then, the two JR Motorsports cars made contact. The contact would slice the left rear tire of Berry’s car. This sent Berry spinning across the track and he would back hard into the outside wall.

Here is the video of Berry’s incident:

Following the contact, Earnhardt radioed to his team that he was smelling the fiberglass from the composite bodies and then he said, “That sucks for Josh, but I don’t know what I could have done.”

Berry is still on the lead lap, but his car is hampered and he is outside the top-30.
