Sammy Smith will have a fresh new look on the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra as he makes his second-career NASCAR Xfinity Series start in this weekend’s Explore the Pocono Mountains 225 at Pocono Raceway. Smith’s car will feature sponsorship from Pilot Flying J.

The scheme is breathtaking, as it has a white base coat and has red to yellow gradient accents all over the machine.

In his NXS debut back at Road America a few weeks ago, Smith started eighth and competed admirably before an engine failure prematurely ended his race after 45 laps. Smith would be credited with a 24th-place finish in that event.

Smith, who hails from Johnston, Iowa, will look to better that finish this weekend at Pocono.

The 18-year old driver is in the midst of a championship defense in the ARCA Menards Series East. Through the opening five races of the ARCA East season, Smith has three victories and he sits in the championship point lead.

In addition to his three wins in ARCA Menards Series East competition, Smith has also scored two wins in a part-time schedule in the ARCA Menards Series this year as well.
