Heading into the NASCAR Xfinity Series regular-season finale at Kansas Speedway, Kaulig Racing has made the decision to move Daniel Hemric into the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro for the final eight races of 2023.

“As we prepare to close out the 2023 season, Daniel Hemric will take over the No. 10 Chevrolet for the remaining races to contend for the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Championship,” said Team President, Chris Rice.

Currently, Hemric sits 11th-place on the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff Grid, holding a 55-point advantage over Parker Kligerman, meaning that barring a major catastrophe at Kansas, he should make the post-season.

However, when it comes to the NASCAR Xfinity Series Owner’s Playoffs, the No. 11 Chevrolet, which has been driven by Hemric throughout the entire season, sits 26 points below the cutline, which is currently held by the Richard Childress Racing No. 2 Chevrolet.

By moving Hemric to the No. 10 Chevrolet, which currently sits fifth-place in NASCAR Xfinity Series Owner Points, it allows the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion to compete for both the drivers and owners championship for Kaulig Racing.

With the ride swap at Kansas, Hemric will take over the driving duties of the No. 10 Chevrolet, while Derek Kraus, who returns to the organization this weekend at the 1.5-mile facility, will jump behind the wheel of the No. 11 Chevrolet.

Chandler Smith will continue as the driver of the No. 16 Chevrolet Camaro, as he attempts to chase a NASCAR Xfinity Series title in his rookie season.

As of the time of publishing, NASCAR’s Roster Portal shows that there will be no crew changes as part of this swap, with Alex Yontz and Jason Trinchere continuing to call the shots on the No. 10 and No. 11, respectively.
