Colby Howard, a native of Simpsonville, South Carolina, will not return for a second full-time campaign at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, as the driver confirmed to TobyChristie.com that the two parties have amicably split.

“We were working hard to return to the No. 91, we just couldn’t come up with the rest of the funding and the people we needed to do what we wanted,” Howard told TobyChristie.com. “I’m on great terms with Bill and everyone at McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.”

Howard, who joined McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in a second-entry last season, amassed a total of three top-10 and nine top-15 results in 2022, including a season-high eighth-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway in October.

Despite his departure from McAnally-Hilgemann Racing, Howard confirmed to TobyChristie.com that he will be returning to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series full-time in 2023, with an announcement regarding his 2023 plans, coming soon.

The 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season will mark Howard’s second full-time campaign in the series, as well as his fifth season competing in NASCAR’s top-three series in some capacity.

Between 2020 and 2021, Howard amassed a total of 43 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series while driving for JD Motorsports, where he secured a pair of top-15 finishes, and 11 top-20 results.
