Zane Smith Holds Off Brett Moffitt For Stage 1 Win in Truck Race at Kentucky

How impressive has NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series rookie contender Zane Smith been so far this season? The 21-year old already has three top-10 finishes in the first six races of 2020, and now he has collected the Stage 1 Win in Saturday’s Buckle up in Your Truck 225 at Kentucky, as he held off his GMS Racing teammate Brett Moffitt.

Moffitt, who was second in Stage 1, started from the pole.

Sheldon Creed was third and he was followed by Christian Eckes and Tyler Ankrum made it four GMS Racing cars inside the top-five in Stage 1.

Todd Gilliland, Grant Enfinger, Derek Kraus, Austin Hill and Spencer Davis rounded out the top-10 from Stage 1.

On lap one of the race, Spencer Boyd went up in smoke and dropped fluid on the track, which brought out the first yellow.

Then, on lap 12, Codie Rohrbaugh went for a hard ride into the turn one wall.

Tim Viens spun around on lap 20 to bring out the final caution in Stage 1.
