Natalie Decker teased a big announcement that would happen on her Twitch channel on Wednesday evening. Following her tease of a “big announcement” many began to wonder if she would be announcing her 2023 real-world NASCAR racing plans.

While that wasn’t the case, Decker still made an impactful personal announcement. Decker, 25, has officially joined a professional eSports team — Galaxy Racer.

Decker shared the announcement on her Twitch channel by airing a video post from the official Galaxy Racer Twitter channel. Here is the video from Galaxy Racer of the announcement:

Galaxy Racing has a special initiative that was launched in February of 2022 called Her Galaxy. According to the verified Twitter account of Her Galaxy, the initiative seeks to empower women at the intersection of eSports, gaming, and culture.

After 15 minutes of teasing her audience, Decker’s Twitch stream peaked at over 700 live viewers at the time of the announcement at 6:15 PM ET.

Over the agonizing 15 minutes of anticipation for her fanbase, Decker fielded guesses about what the announcement was, including whether she was pregnant.

To the question of if the announcement was a pregnancy announcement, Decker stated if she was pregnant she wouldn’t announce on Twitch, instead, she would announce by, “Taking sexy AF photos,” of herself pregnant.

On her Twitch channel, Decker competes in virtual races on iRacing, but she also streams herself playing Call of Duty (she started playing COD on her stream after the announcement), Valorant, and other popular games.

The Wisconsin native has competed in 40 NASCAR National Series events in the non-virtual world. Decker made three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts during the 2022 season, after attempting to make the field for five events.

Decker failed to qualify in her lone NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series attempt of 2022.

The racer’s best finish in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition in 2022 was a 27th-place effort at Atlanta Motor Speedway driving the No. 13 entry, which is fielded by MBM Motorsports.

The high point of Decker’s NASCAR career to date was an impressive fifth-place finish in the 2020 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway.

That top-five finish set the all-time record for the best finish by a female racer in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series history, a record that still stands today.
