Inspection Complete: Justin Allgaier Officially in Championship 4 With Martinsville Win

Justin Allgaier’s championship hopes appeared to be extinguished heading into an overtime restart attempt in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Dead On Tool 250 at Martinsville Speedway, but then all hell broke loose in front of him between a pair of Richard Childress Racing teammates.

As Austin Hill and Sheldon Creed used each other up, Allgaier threaded the needle, took the lead, and crossed the finish line as the race winner.

With the win, Allgaier scored a grandfather clock for his efforts, and he also punched his ticket into a championship 4 showdown in Phoenix Raceway next weekend.

Following the race, Allgaier and his No. 7 JR Motorsports team were declared the official winners of the race by NASCAR after the team’s Chevrolet Camaro passed post-race inspection.

This victory marks the 23rd win of Allgaier’s illustrious NASCAR Xfinity Series career, and he’ll now make his sixth appearance in the Championship 4. Now, he’ll look to score his first championship.

There were no issues throughout the field in inspection, which means all results and standings following Saturday’s event are now considered official.

Sheldon Creed, Sammy Smith, Riley Herbst, and Josh Berry were the official top-five finishers in the Dead On Tools 250.
