Defending NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer needed things to go his way to win the regular-season championship. After an impressive recovery, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver passed Sheldon Creed on the final restart to claim the win and the regular-season title.

Following the race, Custer’s race-winning No. 00 HighPoint.com Ford Mustang Dark Horse was subject to post-race inspection, where the vehicle was given a passing grade. As a result, Cole Custer is the official winner of the Food City 300.

Custer is now a 15-time NASCAR Xfinity Series winner, two of which have come this season.

There were no issues in the post-race inspection, therefore the race results and point standings following Friday’s event are considered official.

Sheldon Creed, Chandler Smith, Jesse Love, Ryan Truex, Brandon Jones, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Ryan Sieg, Sam Mayer, and AJ Allmendinger completed the top-10 in the running order.
