Brandon Jones, the driver of the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra, sped to the first starting position in NASCAR XFINITY Qualifying for the Production Alliance Group 300 at Auto Club Speedway, putting down a blistering lap of a 39.948 (180.234MPH) to grad the pole for the 300-Miler today. Jones was the only driver to break into the 39 second bracket, and the only driver to have a lap with an average speed topping 180MPH.

This marks Brandon Jones’ third career pole and his second with his current team Joe Gibbs Racing (the first coming in May of 2018 at Dover), but also marks his first pole at Auto Club Speedway, in a session marred with loose race cars and incredible saves.

JGR Teammate Harrison Burton was P2, followed by Chase Briscoe, Daniel Hemric & Riley Herbst rounding out the top-five starters for this afternoons race. There were no spins or crashes during the qualifying session, but many incredible saves made by drivers like Robby Lyons, Bayley Currey, Myatt Snider & Brandon Brown.

TobyChristie.com iRacer Anthony Alfredo will start 13th in his No. 21 Anderson’s Maple Syrup Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing, in his NASCAR XFINITY Series Debut.

Next on the docket for today, is NASCAR Cup Series Qualifying at 2:35pm/EST and the NASCAR XFINITY Series Production Alliance Group 300 which can be seen on FS1 at 4:00PM/EST.
