Video: Ty Gibbs and Sammy Smith Celebrate Race Win and Championship With Nose-to-Nose Burnout at Bristol

Ty Gibbs Sammy Smith Burnout

Sammy Smith locked up the 2021 ARCA Menards Series East championship by finishing second in Thursday night’s Bush’s Beans 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. And his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Ty Gibbs won the race.

To celebrate, the duo performed a nose-to-nose burnout on the frontstretch.

Here is video of the pretty awesome moment at the end of Thursday’s race:

In winning, Gibbs now has 10 ARCA Menards Series wins this season and he holds a 26 point lead over Corey Heim with two races left in the main ARCA Menards Series championship season.

What happened leading up to Ty Gibbs and Sammy Smith doing the burnout?

Rajah Caruth had a really incredible save after contact with ARCA Menards Series championship contender Corey Heim:

Sam Mayer’s night ended after an early incident with Jason Kitzmiller.

Chuck Buchanan went around near the mid-way point of the race after contact from the No. 46 car of Thad Moffitt.

Andy Jankowiak had a promising run dashed after a crash in the second half of Thursday’s race.

And near the end of the race, a rivalry was renewed as Thad Moffitt went for a ride off the front bumper of Drew Dollar.

And here is the video of Ty Gibbs collecting the win on Thursday night, which led to the moment of Ty Gibbs and Sammy Smith doing the nose-to-nose burnout:
