Video: Suspension Fails on Ford Mach-E While Austin Cindric Was Driving Media Around Nashville Superspeedway

It has not been a very good weekend for 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series champion Austin Cindric. In Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Tennessee Lottery 250, Cindric’s day ended early after a crash. Well, on Sunday, things hit a new level of odd for Cindric in Music City.

While driving media members around the 1.333-mile track in Ford’s Mach-E 1400 prototype, the suspension failed. NASCAR YouTuber DannyBTalks was able to snag video of the Mach-E limping going the wrong way on pit road as Cindric headed for the garage.

The Mach-E is Ford’s new electric SUV.

According to Jenna Fryer of the Associated Press, who was in the Mach-E prototype at the time of the suspension failure, Cindric was turning hot laps and had reached 180 miles per hour before the failure:

Cindric, 22, has had really good luck through the majority of the 2021 season, which makes this weekend seem so wild for him.

The Ohio-native sits in the top spot of the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series driver standings, even after his crash this weekend. He already has three wins on the year and he has 10 top-five finishes through the first 15 races of the year.
