Video: Stage 2 Winner Goes Hard Into Wall at Start of Final Stage at Darlington

Ross Chastain crash Darlington 2022
Ross Chastain went for a ride off of turn 2 on lap 195 of Sunday’s Goodyear 400 at Darlington.

Man, you hate to see it for one of the dominant cars of the day in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Goodyear 400. But after capturing the Stage 2 win in the race, Chastain’s No. 1 Dale Earnhardt Jr. throwback Coca-Cola scheme ended up wrecked.

Chastain, who was controlling the field into turn 1, lost control of his car off the exit of turn 2 and went hard into the inside wall at lap 195.

Here is video of the crash:

Fortunately, Chastain walked away from the crash without injury, but his chances at capturing a third win on the season came to a skidding stop.

Denny Hamlin inherited the lead with Chastain crashing out.
