NASCAR Cup Series teams have been sitting around waiting to get back on track at Texas Motor Speedway since Sunday. On Wednesday, just a few laps back into action, a multi-car crash ensued.
Matt Kenseth slipped up the track, and as he attempted to gather up his No. 42 McDonald’s car, championship hopeful Denny Hamlin got into the back of the Chip Ganassi Racing machine. This sent Kenseth spinning into Bubba Wallace’s No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports machine.
Kenseth then spun into the grass and obliterated his car in the mud, while Wallace took a hard shot to the outside wall driver-side first. Wallace also clipped Aric Almirola slightly in the crash.
After all that waiting to race again, Bubba Wallace and Matt Kenseth's days are done.
