Over the last twenty laps, Hendrick Motorsports has suffered a dramatic change of fate in Sunday’s The Real Heroes 400 at Darlington Raceway, first with Jimmie Johnson being involved in a accident with lapper Chris Buescher, and now William Byron has slammed the outside wall twelve laps into stage two, due to a loose wheel.

Byron said over the radio shortly before the incident that he had a vibration, indicating a loose wheel, but before Byron could bring the No. 24 to pit road, he was in the Turn No. 3 wall.

Byron would return to the race, but the contact would end any hopes Byron had of winning Sunday’s 400-miler.
